Brown fused aluminum oxide(BFA), local name, also known as carborundum,is brown artificial corundum which are melting in arc furnace from three material alumina, carbon materials, and scrap iron, so the main chemical composition of brown fused aluminum oxide is Al2O3, its content is from 95.00% to 97.00%, the other contains a small amount of Fe, Si, Ti, brown fused aluminum oxide is the most basic of abrasive, grinding performance is good, because of its applicability is wide and its price is cheap, they are suitable for grinding the high tensile metals, such as all kinds of general steel, malleable cast iron, hard bronze, etc., also can make advanced refractories. Brown corundum they have the characteristics of high purity, good crystallization, strong liquidity, low linear expansion coefficient and corrosion resistance.
