Brown Fused Alumina, HS Code 28181010, CAS No. 1344-28-1,（also named as Brown Aluminum Oxide) is produced from high quality Bauxite, Coal, Iron chip by being fused in an electric arc furnace at high temperature. It’s a tough, hard material (Mohs hardness 9) with strong self-sharpening, high strength, excellent wear and corrosion resistance; it has good thermal conductivity and outstanding chemical stability at very high temperature, which makes it an ideal abrasive & refractory materials used in many applications.
We manufacture brown fused alumina in tilting furnace or fixed furnace, and tilting furnace brown fused alumina has higher Al2O3 content, lower impurities and high-performance. Brown fused alumina can be crushed and milled by barmac mill, ball mill or roller mill, and brown fused alumina milled by Barmac equipment is granted more round shape and higher bulk density. Refractory products made of it have higher density and strength, and also less opportunity to have cracks.

Brown Fused Alumina Application:
- Used to produce high grade refractory, castable, refractory brick; Main size is 1-3, 3-5, 5-8mm.
- Sandblasting—–Features: Moderate hardness, high bulk density, without free silicon dioxide, good toughness, fine size and without ash.
- Application of sandblasting: stainless steel, iron workpiece, copper workpiece, glass product, plasthetics, aluminium extruded sections, Copper section, jean and special plus materials, plush processing and effect of pattern.
- Function: Remove surface stains, remove the welding slag and matt effect, remove oxide skin, surface strengthening, the role played by light.
- Sandblasting size: 46, 60, 80mesh(Big size could recycle more times. Or according to the customer’s request.)
- Grinding wheel—-When grinding high tensile strength materials, choice the good toughness
- brown fused alumina. When grinding low hardness with elongation of the material, choice brittle brown fused alumina.
